Eileen Danylczuk

Eileen Danylczuk (né McPhee) has been a Catholic Women’s League member since 1970. Although born in Whitewood, she has lived most of her life in Regina and has been a member of Sacred Heart, St. Peter, Holy Trinity and Holy Family parish councils. Currently still a member there, her council also includes her mother and her two daughters; three generations in one council.

Eileen has served as chair of several standing committees. She was council president twice at Holy Family, and served a two year term as Central Committee Chairperson (now called Regional Committee) in the late 1980’s. Later she served on Diocesan Council, then as Provincial Communications Chair and currently as Spiritual Development Chair. On pastoral council for many years, she currently chairs Pastoral Care. She is a Eucharistic Minister and a lector and she trains new lectors in the parish.

Her professional life was spent as an elementary teacher with Regina Catholic Schools including two years as Religion and Family Life consultant. She retired in 2004 and has spent the last five years working part-time at her own parish in the area of ministry.

Eileen has been married for 41 years to Ken, also an educator. They have six children and eight grandchildren. Life is hectic but good! Eileen attempts to fit a few hours of quilting into every day and started a quilting group at the parish where 12 women meet once a week to sew projects for charity and fund raising. She credits her strong faith life to the fact that she was blessed to attend Catholic Schools from grade one through twelve, including being taught by the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham and to the example provided by her parents as they raised their nine children, of which Eileen was the eldest.
