Helen Kayfish

I have been a member of the League now for over twenty years. I have served on many levels of my parish council including president a term which I have held twice. I have also served on the Prince Albert Diocesan Council. This is my second term as a member of the Provincial Council.

I joined the league when my son was just a baby, bringing him to the meetings was never a problem because all the “grandmas” wanted to hold him anyway. I joined Notre Dame Council in North Battleford and I am still a member there.

I am very involved in other ministries of the parish. I am currently a member of the parish pastoral council. I serve on the stewardship committee, the social justice committee and the liturgy committee. I have been an altar server for nearly 40 years with very little time off for good behavior. I am a lector, a communion minister and a sacristan at my parish. I also help with the singing when needed though I am no longer a member of the choir, I do sing with the diocesan choir a few times a year. I am also a member of the PRMC (parish responsible ministry committee) a program for helping all ministries in the church work safely with children, youth and vulnerable adults.

I work closely with Father Gerard LeGaspi (past provincial spiritual advisor) who is my parish priest when needed.

I am working as the cook and kitchen manager at my daughter’s with her daycare.

My husband Glenn and have been married for over thirty years. We have 4 children, 3 daughters and 1 son. And now have 6 granddaughters, 1 grandson. God is so good!
