Loraine ChurkoTreasurer ![]() Loraine was born and raised at Muenster, Saskatchewan. She completed her high school in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and after graduation started working for The Bank of Nova Scotia where she worked for over forty-two years. While working she completed classes at the University of Saskatchewan, obtaining Certificates & Diplomas relating to the banking industry. Loraine is treasurer for the Canadian Transplant Association, Saskatchewan Region. Her interest in this organization stems from her late husband Ambrose’s kidney transplant in 1978, which he lived with for over 25 years and allowed him to help raise their son Dana who was only five years old at the time of the transplant. She has travelled to France, Japan, and cities across Canada in support of the C.T.A. summer games. She also assists numerous other charitable organizations with fund raising campaigns. Loraine has recently remarried to Dennis Forster. Loraine has been a C.W.L. member since 1971 and has served as treasurer for her local council, St. Anne’s, several times. At the parish she assists with the funeral luncheons, counting/balancing the Sunday collections, and hospitality. She serves as Eucharistic Minister and reader at weekday masses. This is Loraine’s second term as treasurer for the Provincial Council of the Catholic Women’s League. Gardening, especially floral, is a hobby for Loraine, where, surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, she experiences true peace and joy. |
