Lynne GilliesRecording Secretary ![]() It was until eight years ago I resided in the hamlet of Plato, since 1972, when I married my husband Lloyd. We have four children, three married, and have been blessed with five grandchildren. We were grain farmers in the Plato-Madison area, always grateful for the farm life, but chose to retire in 2002. Since the spring of 2003 we have been living in Saskatoon and members of the Holy Family parish. In practice of the notion to serve home, church and community I have taken leadership roles. In recent years, I participated as a Saskatchewan Teen-Aid Committee member, previously with the regional board at Teen-Aid Southwest since 1988. 1997, I was an acclaimed board member of the Prairie West Health District and for two years the Vice-Chair, later, appointed to the Heartland Health Authority which I held until our move from the region. 2007, I served as a Co-Chair of the Provincial Liberal Leader, David Karwacki, election campaign. Other acts of service have been as a catechist teacher, parish pastoral council, lay presiding, extraordinary minister of communion, proclamation of the word, participating as a sponsor in the rite of Christian initiation of adults and children and thirty-nine years as a Catholic Women’s League member. I have held executive positions at the parish and diocesan level and now newly appointed as recording secretary for the Provincial Executive. Life continues to present new adventures and endeavors that bring fulfillment. Another being that I am a June, 2011 graduate of the Diocese of Saskatoon Lay Formation program. Even further to that, it is with great anticipation that Holy Family parish prepares for a move to our new home with completion of the new Cathedral of the Diocese of Saskatoon. |
