President-Elect / Organization

Marge Szabo

I joined the Catholic Women’s League in Ituna, Sask. and then moved to Regina, Sask. in 1979. I joined Holy Family council and have been a member there for 30 years. During this time, I have been council president twice and served almost in every capacity on the executive. I was Regina Regional Chair in 1990 and during that time, hosted the Diocesan Convention. In 2003, I was elected to the Diocesan Executive as 1st Vice and Spiritual Development Chair, then Organizations Chair as President elect. In 2007-09, I was Regina Archdiocesan President. In June, 2009, I was elected 1st Vice and Health and Education Chair on the Sask. Provincial CWL Executive.

I am the CWL representative for the Regina Archdiocesan 100th Anniversary Celebrations. In June, 2009, I formed a committee to start planning for the 2013 National Convention to be held in Regina.

I am a retired teacher since 2002, and have taught in Weyburn, Ituna and Regina. My husband Mike and I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. We are active members of Holy Family Parish. Other than CWL, I like to sew, do some water colour painting and bake many cookies for my grandchildren. We support all their school and sporting activities.

CWL has been a blessing for me as I journey through the different levels of this great organization.
